Eleanor Fletcher

Eleanor started the ‘cello at the age of six, learning with the inspirational Alison McNaught in Cambridge. She continued her luck in finding excellent teachers at the Junior Academy (RAM), studying first with Penelope Lynex and latterly Rebecca Gilliver, with whom she took her ATCL diploma. At university she joined every ensemble that asked her to, including the Oxford University Orchestra, the OU Sinfonietta and the OU Philharmonia, with whom she performed in the Vienna Musikverein. Eleanor has been a member of the Spezzati since 2008 and also plays with the Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra. She enjoyed a week at La Mariette summer course in August 2010, where her concerto preparation was greatly assisted by Naomi Butterworth.

Eleanor currently learns with Robin Michael. She wishes to thank him for much patient help and encouragement, and most especially for his generous loan of a beautiful bow. In non-musical life, Eleanor is a pupil barrister at a specialist set of family law chambers.
