David Somerville Wright

David Somerville Wright was a chorister at Durham Cathedral, and subsequently a choral scholar at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. He now combines his musical life as a soloist and consort singer with a career in the software industry.

David has sung across the country with a number of groups, notably the early music ensemble Stile Antico, whose first recording was nominated for a Grammy in 2008. He is also a regular soloist for the Buxton Musical Society, where recent performances have included Handel’s Theodora and Semele. Projects for 2011 include the Songs of Travel by Vaughan Williams with the Oxford Spezzati in May – and parenthood!
